A Bronx, NY native, Adam Merced was introduced to turntablism by a family member at the age of thirteen.
Over the next five years he spent his evenings tirelessly honing his skills and educating himself in all genres
of music, and DJ MODE was born. MODE honed his craft learning from some of the most recognizable
names in the DJ culture including Jam Master Jay, Neil Armstrong, Evil Dee, and Roktacon.
Taking his knowledge of music and all that he learned from some of the worlds most influential DJ’s,
MODE started spinning at some of the hottest clubs in NYC and Miami including Bungalow 8, Nikki -
Beach, Level V, Prive, Snatch, and Mansion. Over the past 13 years, MODE has been acclaimed in
nationwide magazines, and performed for some of the biggest names in television, film, fashion and sports
entertainment. Using his innovative and forward-thinking methods of presenting music MODE has
entertained events for a diverse clientele including the NBA, MLB, NFL, Nike, Scion, adidas, Livestrong and
Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
DJ MODE continues to grow as an artist and entertainer. He has begun producing music, and has
created a series of thematic mixtapes, the first of which (Love/Hate: The Story of a Failed Relationship) was
released on Valentines Day 2010.
Ultimately, DJ MODE’s goal is to build upon the achievements of the iconic DJ figures that came before
him, and leave a lasting legacy for future DJ's to follow.
DJ MODE currently resides in New York City.
